The New Jewish Home in NYC was audited by the Department of Health (DOH) in the middle of the pandemic and passed the audit with excellent results. This presentation will cover how any type of healthcare provider can be prepared to provide excellent documentation should they undergo a surprise audit.

Presenter: Dana Penny, Chief Compliance Officer at The New Jewish Home in NYC

Dana Penny, MBA is Chief Compliance Officer for The New Jewish Home in New York, NY. He has been with the organization since 2001. Dana is the system-wide Compliance Officer for an elder care network of two large skilled nursing facilities in Manhattan and Westchester County with a combined total of 814 beds, a 72 bed Medicaid Assisted Living Program, a 300-unit Senior Housing complex, three HUD 202 Independent Senior Living projects, two Home Healthcare programs, two Adult Day Health Care centers and other community services programs. He is responsible for the implementation and continued effectiveness of the System’s Corporate Compliance Program through planning, audit, training and regulatory research, and chairs and coordinates the activities of the Compliance Steering Committee. He also sits on the Information Governance Committee, which oversees HIPAA compliance, and the system’s Institutional Review Board for research. He has an MBA in Healthcare Administration.
